No companion meets a family until they pass our strict multi-layered screening: government-ID verification, an active DBS check (Basic DBS for standard social visits, Enhanced DBS required for cognitive decline and respite support), two professional character references, and a comprehensive in-person interview.

Clear boundaries built to protect your loved one.

Every companion digitally signs our strict Terms of Service before joining the platform. This includes an absolute prohibition on handling personal finances, administering medication, or key holding—ensuring companionship stays focused purely on connection, safety, and well-being.

03 / Direct Incident Escalation

Safety is never left to an app algorithm. Companions log their visit updates via our digital platform, and both families and companions have a direct telephone line to the Hestia team for any immediate support or safeguarding concerns.
